My Family

A group of people related to each other by blood is known as ‘family’. They are bound by the thread of love, affection and care. According to the demand of circumstances, they may live together under one roof  or at different places. I have a large family. My family consists 10 members. My grandpa, grandma, my sister, my parents, my aunt, uncle and my cousins are my family members. I am very lucky that we all live together at our home in Bhubaneswar.

My father is a teacher at Navodoya vidyalaya. He teaches English and maths in his school. He is very calm and soft-spoken. He says, “work is worship to God”. He is a dedicated teacher and treats students with love and care as his own children. Parents of students, staff and people respect him highly for his honesty, punctuality, and lucid manner of teaching.

Both my mother and aunt are good housewives. They have a good understanding between them. Their dearly love shows as they were two sisters born to one mother. They cook delicious dishes for us , take care of our health and keep our home clean and beautiful.

My grandmother is a pious and virtuous lady. She is a social worker. She has been selected as the leader of the women in the village. Besides this she spends most of her leisure time in reading newspapers, holy books. In the morning and evening she offers Pujas and Prayers to to God. She is very kind and loving.

My grandpa is also a retired school teacher. In spite of his ripe age he is healthy, active and cheerful. He is the head of our family. His decision is based on his fine judgement and rich experience of life. Our whole family always seeks his advise.

My uncle is a B.D.O. he has not enough time to live with us due to his great responsibilities and position. People love and respect him for his integrity and honesty. He is never partial and unjust to the people. My cousins are very affectionate. We live together basing on true love and sacrifise. Iam proud and lucky that i am one of the members of such a good family.
